There are a couple of extra ordinary
beaches in Myanmar that have unspoiled natural
beauties, clean turquoise blue waters, white
silvery sandy coconut fringed beach line,
from standard to the seductive boutique-style
resorts, not to mention fresh tasty seafood
are effortlessly accessible by flight or
by land. Most visitors find the best way
end their trip at one of Myanmar’s two premier
beaches – Ngwe Saung or Ngapali, where both
beaches have different quality of attractions
and delights.
Ngapali Beach
This is where most visitors go by flights,
direct from Yangon, Bagan, and Inle Lake
(Heho airport). There are daily flights
on private airlines from the said airports.
There are also seasonal flights on selective
days from Sittwe to Ngapali beach. Some
people try to reach Ngapali beach by road
via Pyay, which can be reached from both
Yangon and Bagan within a day. However,
it will be a really exhausting day if you
try to reach Ngapali from Yangon, although
it can be done theoretically. For the visitors
coming from Bagan must make a stopover in
Pyay and continue on the next day. So far,
it is best to reach Ngapli Beach by flight.
The itinerary
could be like this:
• Fly to Ngapali beach from (Heho/Bagan/Yangon/Sittwe)
• Ngapali Beach leisure at your own pace
• Return flight to Yangon in the morning
or late afternoon – stay overnight in Yangon
or direct departure out for next destination
Ngwe Saung Beach
It is located in the direct west of Yangon,
conveniently reached by 5-hrs drive traversing
great delta region. Ngwe Saung is so far
the longest beach in Myanmar and recently
developed with necessary infrastructures
including quality hotels and resorts. Visiting
Ngwe Saung beach is far more than a beach
leisure as visitors can experience the delta-culture
through many villages, the capital of Ayerwaddy
division Pathein, and a elephant camp where
jungle safaris on elephant back can also
enjoy. There are also numerous accommodations
can be chosen… from budget to luxury resorts.
Air Bagan has a few seasonal flights from
Inle Lake, Bagan, and Yangon to Pathein,
which is 28mile from Ngwe Saung Beach.
The itinerary
could be like this:
• Fly back to Yangon from (Heho/Bagan/Mandalay)
in the morning – direct transfer to Ngwe
Saung Beach from the airport with short
visits en route
• Ngwe Saung Beach leisure at your own pace
• Drive back to Yangon before noon – stay
overnight in Yangon or direct departure
out for next destination
