Beach Leisure

There are a couple of extra ordinary beaches in Myanmar that have unspoiled natural beauties, clean turquoise blue waters, white silvery sandy coconut fringed beach line, from standard to the seductive boutique-style resorts, not to mention fresh tasty seafood are effortlessly accessible by flight or by land. Most visitors find the best way end their trip at one of Myanmar’s two premier beaches – Ngwe Saung or Ngapali, where both beaches have different quality of attractions and delights.

Ngapali Beach

This is where most visitors go by flights, direct from Yangon, Bagan, and Inle Lake (Heho airport). There are daily flights on private airlines from the said airports. There are also seasonal flights on selective days from Sittwe to Ngapali beach. Some people try to reach Ngapali beach by road via Pyay, which can be reached from both Yangon and Bagan within a day. However, it will be a really exhausting day if you try to reach Ngapali from Yangon, although it can be done theoretically. For the visitors coming from Bagan must make a stopover in Pyay and continue on the next day. So far, it is best to reach Ngapli Beach by flight.

The itinerary could be like this:

• Fly to Ngapali beach from (Heho/Bagan/Yangon/Sittwe)
• Ngapali Beach leisure at your own pace
• Return flight to Yangon in the morning or late afternoon – stay overnight in Yangon or direct departure out for next destination

Ngwe Saung Beach

It is located in the direct west of Yangon, conveniently reached by 5-hrs drive traversing great delta region. Ngwe Saung is so far the longest beach in Myanmar and recently developed with necessary infrastructures including quality hotels and resorts. Visiting Ngwe Saung beach is far more than a beach leisure as visitors can experience the delta-culture through many villages, the capital of Ayerwaddy division Pathein, and a elephant camp where jungle safaris on elephant back can also enjoy. There are also numerous accommodations can be chosen… from budget to luxury resorts. Air Bagan has a few seasonal flights from Inle Lake, Bagan, and Yangon to Pathein, which is 28mile from Ngwe Saung Beach.

The itinerary could be like this:

• Fly back to Yangon from (Heho/Bagan/Mandalay) in the morning – direct transfer to Ngwe Saung Beach from the airport with short visits en route
• Ngwe Saung Beach leisure at your own pace
• Drive back to Yangon before noon – stay overnight in Yangon or direct departure out for next destination

Please let us know how you would like to end your great journey in Myanmar. Santa Maria works with all the hotels and resorts of these best-known beach destinations.

Mergui (Myeik) Archipelagos

Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago features over 800 pristine, jungle-clad, unspoiled virgin islands scattered throughout the Andaman Sea of the coast between the towns Myeik (Mergui) and Kawthaung (Victoria Point), like emeralds on the blue carpet. There are marine parks, blue & turquoises coral gardens, rare and endangered bird species, the sea gypsy (Mokens) culture, silver-white powdery sandy beaches, glass-clear water, rich marine and land wildlife where the entire archipelago virtually untouched from the humans are some of the points that draws attention to the sea adventurers and those who’d like to escape completely from the hectic human society at least for a moment. Contrary to its enormous potential tourism, there are very limited beach resorts and exploration options to be chosen due to the slow and extraordinary concerns of bringing up the area to the tourism.

For those who would like to take advantages of being pioneers to the world’s lost paradise can have two options:

Beach Resort Stay at “The first one island one resort in Mergui Archipelago”: Myanmar Andaman Resort

Or

Live-aboard explorations taking you into the breathtakingly beautiful islands where you could lost yourself on the silvery powder of sandy beaches only you and your footprints, or sometime share with the occasional monkeys… discover world-class dazzling underwater parks, go kayaking around the islands over the glass-clear waters, jungle safaris, hiking, or explore on the mangrove rivers and soak up with the nature, or go birding… all sort of leisure and adventure activities are possible. Please study our exclusive sea adventure offers.

Accessibility

The Air Bagan flight from Yangon to Kawthaung leaves on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at about 07:00am arriving to Kawthaung at 10:00am. Thus, it is NOT possible to fly from Bagan, Mandalay, & Inle Lake to Kawthaung via Yangon on the same day. The return flight from Kawthaung leaves at 10:30am, arriving Yangon at 13:25pm. Thus, passengers can leave Myanmar on the same day by one late afternoon or evening flight.

It is also possible to enter or leave Kawthaung overland via Thai border town called Ranong. Santa Maria can arrange special border entry/departure arrangements prior to 60-days of your arrival date to Myanmar. It is necessary to get your Myanmar Visa before applying special border entry/departure arrangements. Please contact us for more details.
